Busiro to unveil 2025 Masaza Cup squad amidst high hopes

The 2023 Airtel Masaza Cup champions, Busiro, are set to unveil their 2025 squad tomorrow, Sunday, June 22nd, at Ssentema Grounds.

In a bid to replicate their 2023 success, Busiro has bolstered their squad with numerous talented players.

They will play a friendly match against 2008 Champions Kyadondo at Ssentema.

New Signings

The Ssebwana side has already acquired several top players, including Hamza Kalibwami from Buddu, Rahman Kabaale from Busujju, and left-back Ismail Lubega from Nkumba University.

Other notable signings include Kennedy Ssewankambo, Julius Lukyamuzi, Jamiru Kajubi, Hajji Ssebumpeenje, Kasim Kaboji Keri, and Allan Kalule, among others.

These new recruits will join forces with key players from last year’s squad, including Peter Kaye, Sharif Muwaya, Lawrence Kimera, and Hamza Ntagugira.

Coaching Staff

The team will be led by a strong coaching staff, comprising Mulangira Denis Kiyimba as head coach and Hassan Wasswa Mawanda as assistant coach, both members of the Buganda Royal clan.

Kimuli Robert has been appointed as the second assistant coach, while Lukyamuzi Richard will serve as the team’s trainer.

Bukenya Grace will oversee the goalkeeping department, and Dr. Batenda Ramadhan will handle the team’s medical needs.

Management Committee

The Busiro Ssaza Football Team management committee is comprised of experienced individuals, including Chairman Richard Kijjambu, Vice Chairman Vincent Ssajjabi, Secretary Andrew Walakira Mukisa, Technical Advisor Badru Ssenyonga, Manager Ronald Ssekitoleko, Media Officer Sinan Waiswa, Treasurer Moses Bisaso, Security Officer Mastilah Nakitende, and Team Doctor Ramadan Batanda.

Past Success

Busiro Ssaza Football Team won its maiden Buganda Masaza Cup title in 2023 after a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Buddu in a well-contested final.

Pacy winger Isaac Ofoyrwoth and stylish midfielder Masuudi Kafumbe netted for Busiro during their 2-1 win over Buddu.

With a strong squad and experienced coaching staff in place, Busiro is poised to make a deep run in the 2025 Masaza Cup.

The team’s unveiling tomorrow will be a highly anticipated event, and fans are eager to see the new squad in action.
