As preparations for the U20 AFCON qualifiers intensify, national football team the Hippos come from three goals down and to KCCA FC to 3-3 draw in a practice match played on Friday, the 13th November 2020 at Lugogo.

The Kasasiro boys scored through Juma Balinya (brace) and Sadat Anaku whilst the Hippos through Najib Yiga of Vipers SC, Derrick Kakooza(Police FC) and Ivan Bogere(Proline FC) to earn a hard fought draw.

This was the first practice match for Morley Byekwaso coached side which is in preparations for the forthcoming U20 Africa Cup of Nations Zonal Qualifiers

Uganda was pooled in group B alongside Burundi, Eritrea and South Sudan. The Zonal qualifiers will be held in Tanzania from 22nd November to 6th December 2020.

The finalists in this zonal championship will automatically qualify for the final tourney set to be staged in Mauritania from February to March.

12 teams will feature in the tournament and the semifinalist will see green light to 2021 FIFA World Cup scheduled for 20th May to 12th June in Indonesia.

Nigeria is the most successful team in this competition (U20 AFCON) with (7) trophies whilst Mali is the reigning champion after claiming her first in the previous edition.
