Crested Cranes defender Shadia Nankya was named player of the match in CAF Women’s Champions League tie between her side Masar formerly Known as “FC Tutankhamun and South Africa’s Mamelodi Sundowns in Casablanca.

The former UCU Lady Cardinals defender staged a brilliant performance as her Egyptian side FC Masar stunned reigning champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies Football Club 1-0 in a Group B tie.

FC Masar scored through a Burundi international Sandrine Niyonkora.

The Midfield scored via a penalty kick to give FC Masar a slim and shocking 1-0 win over giants Mamelodi.

The game also featured another Ugandan defender Aisha Nantongo. The former St. Noa Girls Secondary School Captain and Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC defender was too instrumental for Masar.

In their next game, FC Masar will face off with Nigeria’s EDO Queens on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, EDO Queens rioted to win 3-0 against CECAFA Champions CBE in their first game.

F. Ijamilusi scored a brace with goals coming in the 5th and 54th minutes before G. Osigwe sealed the victory in the 80th.
In the tournament opener, FAR Rabat put three past Aigles De la Medina.
