The Uganda Cranes have qualified for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

This historic achievement occurs after South Sudan defeated Congo Brazzaville 3-2 on Thursday evening.

As a result, Uganda and South Africa secure spots in the 2025 AFCON.

Uganda leads the table with 10 points, while South Africa has 8 points.

South Sudan now has 3 points, and Congo has 4 points, but neither team can qualify even with a win in their last group game.

Uganda will host South Africa on Friday at 4 pm at Nelson Mandela Stadium in Namboole to compete for the top spot in Group K.

Notably, Uganda and South Africa previously played to a 2-2 draw in the first leg, thanks to goals from Rogers Mato and Denis Omedi.

Paul Put’s side last qualified for AFCON in 2019, held in Egypt under coach Sebastian Desabre.

The 2025 AFCON will be the 35th edition of the tournament and Uganda’s 8th appearance.
