Out of the proposed 14 new members tabled for admission, thirteen (13) Soccer Academies were approved and only was one denied at the Uganda Youth Football Association (UYFA) 17th General Assembly.
The assembly was held today Wednesday, the 25th September 2024 at Jevine Hotel in Kampala.
Owned by former Uganda Cranes left-full back Godfrey Walusimbi (Waza), Waza Soccer Elite from Nabbingo in Wakiso is among the 13 new approved academies.
African Child, Red Sea, Ghetto Revolution, Panthers , and Bright Sparks Soccer Academies (Makindye) are the others.
The Kawempe based Uplift, Kumalo (Acholi), Central Soccer Academy (Kampala Central), Elgon, Bugwere, Mengo SS and Kakuusi Soccer Academic were also admitted.
In the other resolution, the models of the UYFA National championships of the U15 and 13 have changed.
Regional qualified have been given the mandate to organize most of the football activities with much more participants than at the National level.
Each categories of U15 and U13 will have only 8 teams for boys and 8 for girls. Both age categories will attract 64 teams at the National level.
Representing Engineer Moses Magogo, Agnes Mugena, the FUFA executive committee member and also the in charge of women football was the chief guest.
In her speech, Mugena lauded the transparency, gender equity and civility exhibited during the deliberation in the AGM.
“I have find this to be the most organized AGM I have ever attended in football associations in Uganda.
The way of deliberation was too unique, corporate and elite with total respect amongst the delegates.
All has been discussed here, but my attention has been drawn to the benching marking strategies of the association, accountability and governance.
From this AGM again, I have realized that self evaluation is key to the association. I pledge to rally behind you for more funding from FUFA.

The General Assembly also passed a budget of UGX. 215,150,000 for the next financial year running from this month to September 2025.
