FUFA Women Super League champions Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana have shared spoils in a friendly match.

The contest between the two sides was held this Tuesday morning, 30th July 2024 at Kawempe Valley grounds.

This was Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC’s first practice match ahead of their CAF champions Qualifiers for CECAFA region.

Catherine Nagadya scored with a hard close ranging shot off a Sylvia Kabene through ball towards the end of the first stanza.

Kawempe levelled it late in the second half through Rebecca Nakato, striking Dorcus Kisakye’s well laid pass inside the area.

While addressing the media after the game, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC tactician Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi highlighted the positives from the game.

“We felt it necessary to have this friendly match since we are preparing for both CECAFA club championship and FEASSSA Games.

I want to assure the public that by tomorrow morning, our players submission to the CAF system shall be done and we look forward to write history”. Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi.

The 2023/24 FUFA Women Super League champions, who defeated Kampala Queens to claim the title, were placed in Group B alongside Simba Queens (Tanzania), PVD Buyenzi (Burundi), and FAD Djibouti.

Group A consists of CBE (Ethiopia), Kenya Police Bullets, Yei Joint Stars (South Sudan), Warriors Queens (Kenya), and Rayon Sports (Rwanda).

The CECAFA Zonal qualifier for the CAF Women’s Champions League is scheduled to take place from August 17th to September 4th, 2024, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The winner will secure a spot in the prestigious CAF Women’s Champions League, a feat no Ugandan team has achieved before.

Meanwhile St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana are preparing for FEASSA Games set for 16th – 27th August in Bukedea.
