FUFA-FAU young referees inaugural course has successfully been concluded this Friday, 26th July 2024 at Kabowa Hill School in Kampala.

The course that attracted 37 students has seen 24 graduate at the end of two series.

The first exercise of the course was held on 17th March to 21st April 2024 before the final bit that was held this week.

The course aimed to develop Futsal at the grassroots level by enhancing students’ knowledge and skills.

Organized by FAU in collaboration with FUFA and Zannya Africa Foundation, the course featured comprehensive theoretical and practical sessions led by experienced Futsal Referees instructors Mulindwa Ismail, Erias Kafeero, and Nsubuga Brian Emmy.

According to Futsal Association Uganda website, facilitator Nsubuga emphasized the course’s objective as bellow;

“We introduced students to Futsal, aiming to involve young people in its development in Uganda.

With only ten national referees, these youngsters will play a vital role in officiating school and junior Futsal leagues.”

Out of 37 enrolled students, 24 successfully completed the course and received certificates.

One of the participants Faridah Masudi lauded the importance of the course. “I’ve gained valuable knowledge, including Futsal’s laws and core principles.

I’m eager to apply my skills and highly recommend this course to students across Uganda.”
