Middleweight pugilist Isaac Zebra Ssenyange unanimously won 5-0 against Abas Sseguya in a national title ten rounds fight during the Grand Opening of a fully face lifted and furbished Hamz Stadium (War Memorial Stadium, Nakivubo),

In front of a huge crowd, the fight was held on Saturday night, the 1st June 2024.

Zebra Isaac Ssenyange Jr extended his 100% professional boxing winning run, making it four in four.

Since his move into professional ranks, Ssenyange has now won four fights registering three electric Knockouts (KOs).

The Bwaise based boxer made his debut in professional boxing ranks last year against Tarimo Alibaba at Lugogo Hockey grounds last year.

Meanwhile, Abas Sseguya suffered his second defeat in six (6) professional fights. He has won four and lost two.

Abas Sseruyange’s first loss came against the solid Farahat Manirola at Lugogo.

On the same day, Zahara Nandawula and Flavia Babirye will locked horns. Nandawula unanimously won the fight by 5-0

However, there was much controversy in the main kickboxing fight between Golola and Ssemata.

As seen by everyone and clearly evident, Semata won the fight.

For starters, the referee raised Semata’s hand declaring him as a win. In a dramatic turn of events, the referee immediately rose both Golola and Semata to cancel the first declaration.

This was the third meeting between the two Kickboxing giants. Semata won the first meeting on points in 2018.

In their second meeting  in 2019, Golola needed just three rounds to out-punch Umar Semata in the K1 epic rematch played at Freedom City, Namasuba along Entebbe road.

Besides boxing and kickboxing, the event menu card had two football matches.

Kitara FC, the Uganda Cup winners lost 3-0 to URA FC in the first match. Joseph Ssemujju scored once and a brace for Ivan Ahimbisibwe for the tax collectors.

In the second and official opening football match, league champions SC. Villa beat old time rivals Express FC 1-0. Andrew Otim scored the only goal of the game held under floodlights.
