Three Athletes from Netball, football and rugby have been crowned as May’s best players following there top notch performances in their respective sports disciplines.

Fildausi Namulema (Netball), Shadia Nabirye (football) and rugby player Malcom Okello were crowned.

Fildausi Namulema a Netball Center player for National Insurance Corporation (NIC) netball club has won the Fortebet real stars award for the month of May 2024.

To win the accolade and cash, she beat competition off teammate Rachael Nanyonga and Prisons’ Goal Shooter Christine Namulumba.

Namulema was part of the NIC squad that won the recently concluded 2024 East African netball championship held in Dar-es-salaam, Tanzania.

At the same tournament, she was also named the most valuable player (MVP).

During the round-robin tournament, NIC won their all the eight (8) games to lift their 22nd East African title.

In the football category, Kawempe Muslim Secondary School’s  Shadia Nabirye won the accolade.

Nabirye was too influential as her side won a bronze medal at the CAF African Schools championship in Zanzibar.

She beat Vipers’ captain Milton Karisa and Emmanuel Ajo of relegated Busoga United.

Nabirye scored three (3) goals to become the tournament’s top scorer.

In rugby, Platinum Credit Heathens’ Malcom Okello was crowned. Okello toppled Emily Lekuru and Ivan Magomu.
