David Nono’s coached side St Lawrence University BSC registered a 5-2 victory against MS Sand Lions in their opener of the FUFA Beach 2022/23 League at the FUFA Technical Center Njeru on Sunday.

The defending champions scored through Rica Byaruhanga, Sulaiman Ochero, Baker Lukooya, George Kaddu and Ronald Magwali.

The seven (7) goal thriller was one of the greatest entertainment show on Weekend I of the 2022/23 season.

MS Sand Lions BSC goals were scored by Robert Kato and Abbey Kawuma as their side suffered a brutal reception from the Lubaga educationists.

In another game of the day, Jinja Lions BSC defeated Buganda Royal 3-1.

Goals from Simon Ojera, Frederick Ngalo and Herbert Onyango brought home the most wanted maximum points to the Eastern giants.

The sole goal for Buganda Royal BSC was scored by Paul Lule.

Elsewhere, Mutoola BSC also walked away with a 6-4 victory against Grace Church BSC in a ten goal thriller which turned out to be the most scoring tie of the weekend.

Paul Nsege and Sharif Apuuli scored twice each for Mutoola BSC with the other goals coming from Musa Ssali and Peter Mukwata.

Jacob Nakisa, Ben Owen had a goal each for Grace Church BSC with Babu Mulani scoring twice.

The league will return on 29th January with five fixtures as Buganda Royal face Ms Sand Lions, Jinja Lions BSC pairing Kiringente BSC, MUBS lock horns with Mutoola BSC, Grace Church up against KIU BSC and Wolves BSC play KJT BSC
