Kitara FC produced a dominant, front-foot display to dismantle Police FC 4-0 in the first leg of the FUFA Super 8 quarterfinals at Hamz Stadium Nakivubo, leaving the tie virtually decided before the return fixture.

The Uganda Cup champions imposed themselves early and never relinquished control, translating territorial superiority into a decisive halftime lead.

Living Kabon broke the resistance with a sharp opener, before Patrick Kaddu doubled the advantage to cap a commanding first-half showing.

Any hopes of a Police response faded after the interval as Kitara maintained their attacking rhythm.

Emmanuel Wasswa added a third with composure, and Jimmy Kalema put the result beyond doubt, rounding off a clinical performance.

Police’s brief chance to claw their way back came from the penalty spot, but Bedia Ikamba was denied by an outstanding save from Meddie Kibirige, preserving Kitara’s clean sheet and reinforcing their control of proceedings.

The performance suggested a tactical shift under head coach Wasswa Bbosa, whose side displayed increased attacking cohesion and fluidity while retaining defensive discipline.

Despite the emphatic margin, Bbosa struck a critical note, pointing to avoidable lapses.

“I was disappointed by the way we conceded a cheap penalty, which I believe we should have avoided.”

His focus remains on refinement as the Royals balance domestic ambitions with continental commitments. With squad rotation already evident, Bbosa emphasised the importance of building depth through the competition.

“This is a great opportunity to give our players competitive minutes… We want to improve every department so that we don’t struggle when we lose one or two players to injury.
