KCCA FC kept their championship ambitions firmly on track with a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Entebbe UPPC in Tuesday’s StarTimes Uganda Premier League action.
The decisive moment came in the 72nd minute when Sammy Ssebaduka rose sharply to head home a precise delivery from Gavin Kizito. The Entebbe goalkeeper had rushed off his line in an attempt to intervene, but Ssebaduka reacted quickest, guiding the ball into the net to settle a tightly contested encounter.
For much of the match in Bugonga, clear chances were scarce. Both sides struggled to impose themselves in the final third during a cautious first half that ended goalless. After the interval, however, KCCA showed greater composure and patience, aware that a single opportunity could define the outcome.
Once ahead, the Kasasiro Boys displayed defensive discipline and maturity, shutting down Entebbe’s attempts to find an equaliser and seeing out the match with minimal alarm.
The result continues a decisive trend between the two teams, with no draws recorded across their last eight meetings.
KCCA’s win lifts them to 51 points, maintaining second place and keeping pressure on leaders Vipers SC, who also secured a 2–0 victory over Buhimba United Saints to stay four points clear at the summit.
Elsewhere, Police FC edged URA FC 2–1, while UPDF FC produced a commanding 5–2 win against BUL FC. Attention now turns to the evening fixture, where Express FC face NEC FC at Nakivubo.
Looking ahead, KCCA will take on Calvary in their next outing, while Entebbe face a stern test against league leaders Vipers.
