Former Vipers duo Defender Geofrey Wasswa and goalkeeper Derrick Ochan have urged teammates to step up and show great character when KCCA FC visit Vipers on Sunday if they are to pick maximum points.

The pair, who are former Vipers players are positive that KCCA FC can pick three points on Sunday in Kitende.

It will be a top of the table tie between the two sides with KCCA FC aiming at extending their lead at the top of the table while Vipers’ main target is to close the gap.

“We are ready to face Vipers. We have trained well and have prepared well for this game. All the lads want to keep the good run we have had so far and the mood in camp is great,” Wasswa said.

“We know the threat they possess when they are home but we have done our homework quite well and are ready for them. As players, we have to show the right attitude on the day and show that we want it more than them,” he added.

KCCA FC is top of the league table and is also unbeaten in eight league games while Vipers SC have 16 points from seven games played this term.

“I feel good that I have been given a chance to play at KCCA FC. I have played two games so far and I have learnt a couple of things,” Ochan said.

“As goalkeepers, we keep pushing ourselves each day and we trust whoever is chosen to play on the day to get the job done. They (Vipers) are a good side but we also want to go there and pick three points. I urge my fellow players to treat the game like any other game and have top character on Sunday,” he added.

In the last 22 games between both sides, KCCA FC has won six, Vipers has won 11 and both side have shared spoils six times.
