It will be a battle between the first and the second when KCCA FC visit Vipers SC on match day nine of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League in Kitende.

KCCA FC have never won a game at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende. The 13 time Uganda Premier League Champions will be looking for their first win at the stadium.

KCCA FC is top of the league table and is also unbeaten in eight league games. The 13 time Uganda Premier League Champions have collected 22 points from eight games, picking up seven wins and a draw.

Vipers SC have 16 points from seven games played this term. The Venoms lost to the tax collectors last weekend at home and will have to have their A game if they are to stop a relentless KCCA FC side that is yet to lose a game this term.

Morley Byekwaso will be facing Vipers SC for the very first side since he was confirmed as full manager of KCCA FC.

Former KCCA FC player Bright Anukani who is now at Vipers SC will be facing his former employers for the very first time since leaving the club.

Seven KCCA FC players Derrick Ochan, Innocent Wafula, Andrew Kawooya, Ashraf Mugume, Samuel Ssenyonjo, Geofrey Wasswa and Davis Kasirye if selected for the game on Sunday will all be facing their former employer Vipers SC.

KCCA FC and Vipers SC will be meeting for the 33rd time in the league history and the Venoms have an upper hand out of the previous 32 meetings having 13 wins, 8 draws and 11 losses.

Gift Ali who sat out of the game against BUL FC has returned from injury and will feature in the match day squad.

Brian Aheebwa, Peter Magambo, Mwanje Elvis and Samson Kigozi have resumed light training. However, the game comes a little early for the quartet.

Brian Kayanja and Emmanuel Alex Wasswa are all ruled out due to long term injuries.

Brian Majwega and Julius Poloto will miss the game due to a hamstrings picked up in the games against UPDF FC and Arua Hill respectively.

For Vipers, Richard Basangwa, Lawrence Tezikya and Umaru Kyebatala remain long time absentees ruling them out this first round after undergoing surgery and it’s the second round earmarked for their returns.
