The Wakiso Zone Basketball qualifiers that  commenced on March 20th, 2025, at Elite High School and neighboring Bethel High School have reached quarterfinals.

The tournament featured over 20 boys and girls teams competing for intense two days  saw 19 girls teams divided into four groups, with each team playing four or three games respectively.

The group stages, played on March 20th and 21st, witnessed intense competition, with eight teams ultimately booking their slots for the quarterfinals.

Notable schools, including hosts Elite High School, reigning zonal champions St. Noa, and national champions St. Mary’s Kitende, are expected to pose a strong challenge, although the other teams cannot be underestimated.

With Wakiso Zone having secured sufficient slots at the national championship, all quarterfinalists have automatically qualified for the May tournament, set to be hosted by Bukedea Comprehensive School.

The dates for the quarterfinals and semifinals are yet to be announced. The Wakiso Zonal Ball Games 1 finals, including the basketball finals, are scheduled to take place on April 12th, 2025, at the WAKISSHA Resource Center.

The quarterfinal fixtures are as follows:

– St. Noa Girls vs. Kisubi Mapeera

– Zzana Mixed vs. Gayaza High School

– Buddo SS vs. Exodus College

– St. Mary’s Kitende vs. Elite High School
