Six-time Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC will visit NEC FC  in a repeat of the Fufa Super 8 quarter final clash in the late kick off in a highly anticipated mouthwatering tie.

The game will be played under floodlights at MTN Omondi Stadium in Lugogo, on Sunday, the 15th September.

In their last season’s two meetings, both games ended in draws and literally denied Vipers SC a chance to win the UPL trophy for the third time in a row.

Under Serbian Nikola Kavazovic, Vipers SC will hope to see Allan Okello stays fit and duplicate his Uganda Cranes explicit performance to unlock the usually tight NEC defence under former Vipers player Ibrahim Kiyemba’s command.

Kenneth Kimera is expected to make his league debut after transferring from Wakiso Giants.

Milton Karisa and Kenneth Kimera who scored against NEC while at Wakiso Giants last season will be the players tasked to look for the desired match winning goals.

Star man Allan Mugalu, ex-Vipers midfielder Paul Mucureezi and striker Cromwell Rwothomio will be NEC’s hope  along with South Sudan internationals Joseph Dhata, Atendele Geriga and Gaddafi Wahab in a hunt for maximum points.

In the other games, UPDF will be on road to Luzira Prison to face Maroons as the warders will be seeking a better start to the season to avoid being involved in relegation skirmishes as it happened last season.

At Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium in Wakiso, Soltilo Bright Stars visit Steven Bengo and Tonny Mawejje’s  Wakiso Giants in a highly anticipated Wakiso derby.

Wakiso Giants literally have a new look after departure of many key players in the transfer window.

However, in Marvin Oshaba and David Bagoole, they got the experience alongside Hassan Ssenyonjo and Lawrence Bukenya.

Nelson Ssenkatuka remains the key man for the Stars who are managed by ex-Uganda Cranes midfielder Joseph Mutyaba.
