The 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Elite Games excitingly kicked off on Thursday, 25th January at Jinja Secondary School in Jinja City.

Kawempe Muslim Secondary Schools and Boni Concili registered a perfect run in day one with two out of two, whilst St. Noa lost one and won one.

Kawempe put four past St. Stephen in their opener.

Hadijja Babirye, Aisha Mpandi, Agnes Nabukenya and Docus Kisakye were on target for Kawempe.

In their game two of day one, they won convincingly 3-0 against hosts Jinja SS.

Sumayah Nabuto…….. scored a goal each as Kawempe registered maximum points.

Boni Concili labored past St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana to win 1-0 in their opening game.

Rinah Ariho was on target for Boni Concili. In their second game, they humiliated St. Stephen Budondo by 6-0 to maintain their perfect start.

St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana bounced back angrier to put shape swords to newbies Bukedea Comprehensive School.

The Zana based side won 4-0. ………..

This was the first meeting between two sides. The Nestroy Kizito coached St. Noa was meeting their for coach James Mukubya who is currently at Bukedea for the first time since his departure from the Zana giants.

The host side Jinja SS won the tournament opener against Bukedea Comprehensive School.

The Seven goal thriller ended 4-3 in favor of Jinja SS. Shadia Bakumba, Peace Mwebaza, and an own goal from Judith Mawuwa were on target for Bukedea.

Peace Mwebaza, Gloria Mutesi winner, Efah Nalubanga (OG) and Charity Nabira scored for Jinja SS.

Games will continue on Friday morning with two fixtures for each side in day two.

Six teams compete for girls football glory in a round Robbin format tournament.

The four day tournament that started on 24th  will climax on Saturday 27th January.
