The Startimes Uganda Premier League matchday eight commences today with one game, as NEC FC hosts Police FC at MTN-Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

In the game that will be played under floodlights, NEC FC aims to bounce back to winning ways against stubborn visitors.

In their previous game, NEC narrowly lost 1-0 to newcomers Lugazi FC.

The visitors edged Mbale Heroes 2-1 at home in Kavumba, thanks to goals from Ben Ocen and Isaac Ogwang.

A victory for NEC FC will see them go top of the table with 18 points, just one ahead of table leaders KCCA FC, who play Vipers this Saturday.

While a win for Police FC will send Simon Peter Mugerwa’s side to fourth position with 13 points.

NEC will welcome back Ibrahim Thembo, while Joseph Dhata, Amir Kakomo, and Tah Barni Kelvin are still out due to injuries.

Farouk Katongole, who missed the previous game against Mbale Heroes, returns from suspension, while Reagan Male is still out.
