Wakiso Giants head coach John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda has lauded his players for their display against KCCA FC despite a defeat.

The Purple Sharks lost 3-2 against the Kasasiro Boys in the 2022/2023 StarTimes Uganda Premier League opening fixture at MTN Omondi stadium Lugogo.

According to Luyinda, his boys put up a good display against a good side in KCCA FC.

“We were away and playing against a good side but I thank my players who put up a good fight for the few mistakes from which we conceded,” Luyinda said.

“There were moments when we looked the part although it’s still work in progress and we shall improve in areas we looked timid at times.”

“We were cautious in approach and wanted to hit them on the break and the boys perfected that. We created chances but unfortunately didn’t put them away and if we had converted them, the story would be different,” he added.

Wakiso will be looking for their first win of the season in their next league fixture against Maroons on October 11.
