Wakiso Giants are back in action against record winners SC Villa at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku on Friday as the two sides are battling for top spots.

Wakiso Giants go into the game in high mood as they are still unbeaten since day one when they lost to KCCA at Lugogo.

John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda reveals that his charges have had good recovery sessions but would have loved to have each of players available for selection which is isn’t the case.

“We have gone through all the recovery processes after such a high intensity game against Vipers on Tuesday – the players used a lot of energy but we feel we have prepared them well,” said Luyinda.

“We are challenged by injuries to Frank Ssebuufu and Ambrose Arinda and missing our players who are with the Hippos but we have confidence in the available players to do the job.”

SC Villa on the other hand are enjoying a good start to the season and sit second on the table with 13 points in six games.

They come into the game on the back of two successive wins and are coached by among others Ibrahim Kiirya, our coach in the Fufa Big League.

They are without Umar Lutalo and Mohammed Nsereko who are with the Hippos.

Their key players are Ivan Sserubiri, Gift Fred, Kenneth Ssemakula and our former centre forward Ivan Bogere.

For Wakiso Giants, the trio of Titus Ssematimba, Marvin Nyanzi and Ronald Madoi are still away with the Uganda Hippos in Sudan for the Afcon U-20 Cecafa Zonal qualifiers.

Frank Ssebuufu missed the last game with a groin and remains doubtful for the Villa clash.

Ambrose Arinda pulled a muscle in the draw with Vipers but the coaches will have a last minute check on his fitness before a decision is made.
