The Uganda U20 boys’ team, the Uganda Hippos, sealed their semifinal spot unbeaten after a 2-2 draw with South Sudan on Friday evening.

In the game played at KMC Stadium in Tanzania, Uganda was held by South Sudan in a thrilling 4-goal draw.

Striker John Paul Dembe netted a brace within 15 minutes of play. Before the break, Emmanuel Swoka pulled one back for South Sudan.

In the second half, Patrick Valentino equalized in the 90th minute to snatch a point from Uganda.

However, Uganda finished top of Group B with seven points from three games and qualified for the semifinals.

Uganda will play the runner-up from Group A, who will be confirmed after Saturday’s games.

Notably, the two finalists will qualify for the U20 final tournament due
