The Uganda senior men’s national football team, the Uganda Cranes, will host neighboring South Sudan this evening in the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier on Friday at 7:00 PM at Mandela National Stadium in Namboole.

The entire summoned squad has been training and is available in camp to battle for three points under the floodlights.

“I believe we are ready and prepared to face South Sudan,” said the coach. “Everyone is in perfect condition, and we are all looking to win this game. It won’t be easy, but with our fans’ support at home, I believe we will put up a good performance and win.”

Captain Khalid Aucho warned his teammates about complacency, emphasizing that games against neighbors are never easy.

“Playing against neighbors is never easy, and we do not expect South Sudan to roll a carpet for us. As players, we are cautious about being complacent, and we will give our best to make sure victory is ours,” Aucho said.

Uganda has four points from its first two games and seeks to stay on the right path to qualification by winning at home against South Sudan.

The return leg will be played on Tuesday next week at Juba Stadium.

The game will be televised on FUFA TV and broadcast with live commentary on FUFA Radio.

Probable Lineup:

Isima Watenga (GK)
Kenneth Semakula
Aziz Kayondo
Bevis Mugabi
Elio Capradossi
Taddeo Lwanga
