Wakiso Giants head coach Alex Gitta claims that his charges are ready to pick a positive result on the road after returning to winning ways in their previous fixture.

The Purple Sharks return to action on Tuesday March 15th with an early kick off away to UPDF in Bombo.

Wakiso Giants will enter this game on the back of a 3-1 win over Mbarara City that ended their three-match losing streak and face a side desperate to win again.

“As a team, we are set and ready to go pick a positive result from Bombo,”Gitta said before adding.

“We are aware of the threat they pose despite their current run and we must be careful,” he added.

The army side on the other hand has gone over eleven league games without a win and drew their last game 1-1 at home to Arua.

UPDF are Wakiso’s opponents in the Stanbic Uganda Cup and the two sides will face off in six days at the round of 16.

But Gitta insists that all focus is on the first game which is in the league.

“We take game per game. At the moment, the league game is more important and we can only think about the game in the Cup later. Our focus is to see how we get a good result from Bombo,” he noted.

This will be the fourth meeting in the league between Wakiso Giants and UPDF FC with Wakiso Giants winning two times and the other time ended in a draw.

For Wakiso Giants, Hassan Wasswa Dazo is back in training but the game comes too early for him in terms of fitness, Fahad Kawooya and Samson Kiirya remain sidelined while U-17 international Ronald Madoi could make the match day squad.
