Wakiso Giants picked a point on the road following a 1-1 draw with URA at the Arena of Visions, Ndejje.

Simon Namwanja scored Wakiso’s only goal of the game in the first half before Cromwell Rwothomio drew the game level.

Tom Masiko could have put the Purple Sharks in the lead but his headed effort hit the cross bar.

Moses Aliro and Titus Ssematimba also had opportunities to break the deadlock but were denied.

At the other end, Derrick Emukule made a couple of saves as both sides fought for a breakthrough.

With the first half drawing to the end, Namwanja and Ssematimba beat Ashraf Mandela with swift passes and the former’s shot flew past Nafian into the net for a halftime lead.

At the beginning of the second half, defender Hassan Wasswa was replaced by Alex Komakech due to injury forcing Namwanja to shift to centre back along with returning Edward Satulo.

URA FC piled pressure and got the leveller in the 70th minute with Rwothomio heading Shafik Kagimu’s corner home.

Ibrahim Kasule and Frank Ssenyondo then replaced Ssematimba and Tom Masiko in a change of tactics but despite efforts from Aliro and Joshua Lubwama, there was no change to the score line.

George Kaddu also made a cameo appearance at the death replacing Aliro for his first game since a two month ban.

A point took Wakiso to 21 points from 13 games and next on menu is a home tie against BUL FC on January 4th 2022.

Meanwhile, URA FC is seventh with 18 points and their next game will be a trip to Gaddafi FC on January 4th.
