The Finance Trust Women Elite league has recognized the outstanding performances of St. Noa Girls Football Club’s goalkeeper Lillian Nakirya and Asubo Ladies FC’s coach Swaleh Kamya, naming them the player and coach of February, respectively.

Nakirya’s exceptional skills between the posts have been instrumental in St. Noa’s unbeaten run, earning her team a spot in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League with 25 points in nine games.

Notably, Nakirya remains the only goalkeeper this season who has yet to concede, showcasing her remarkable talent and dedication.

Nakirya’s nomination was highly competitive, with her teammates Esther Babirye and Asubo Ladies FC’s Zainah Namboozo also in contention.

However, Nakirya’s impressive performance proved unbeatable, and she took home the coveted award.

In the coaches’ category, Swaleh Kamya edged out St. Noa’s Jimmy Kintu Mwera, thanks to his impressive wins against Highway (4-0), Pabo (2-0), and Gold Star (1-0).

Under Kamya’s guidance, Asubo Ladies FC has maintained a strong lead in the Victoria Group with 21 points, four points ahead of second-placed Highway Sironko.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Kintu Mwera’s St. Noa has also had a commendable run, with two wins and a draw in their recent matches.

The team secured victories against Royal Dreamers at home and UCU Lady Cardinals away, and also drew 0-0 with She Kasese in Nyakasanga, Kasese.
