The 2026 Netball Uganda National Rally Championship has gathered pace at Kaddugala Secondary School in Masaka, transitioning into a decisive knockout phase after an electrifying start on Friday.

Defending champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School–Zana, alongside Buddo Secondary School, St. Mary’s Kitende, and hosts Kaddugala SS, stamped authority early by winning all their group stage fixtures to advance confidently into the Round of 16.

The knockout stage presents compelling matchups, with St. Noa facing Kaddugala SS, while Kitende B takes on Baptist. Buddo SS will lock horns with Nile Citizens B, as St. Mary’s Kitende confront Kaddugala A in another headline fixture.

Elsewhere, Nile Citizen meets Masaka, Hamdan Islamic plays Kisozi High, Light College faces Kasasa, and Victoria clashes with Kawanda SS.

Played under damp conditions, the tournament has attracted 1,180 athletes across 59 teams, spanning secondary and primary schools, universities, Super League clubs, and local clubs, in both women’s and men’s categories.

The championship was officially opened by Major Fred Malengano, with Netball Uganda executives led by First Vice President William Bwambale overseeing proceedings.

With the Round of 16 slated for Saturday morning, the competition will intensify rapidly, as quarterfinals and semifinals follow in the afternoon before the finals later in the evening.

The championship will climax under the stewardship of National Council of Sports General Secretary Dr. Bernard Patrick Ogwel, with titles on the line across multiple categories.
