She Corporate defender Shivan Tusiime graduated in Human Resource Management over the weekend from Bugema University.

The soft-spoken defender opened up about how she managed to balance her love for books and football.

“I thank God for helping me graduate, and I thank Coach Meddy Nyanzi, who trusted and gave me the opportunity to study from Bugema University.”

She started, “Balancing books and football is not easy because you have to be committed to both, yet you have other things to do as well, but I was focused and had help from my club and university, who made me keep pushing.” She added.

“A diploma is not enough, and I still have to go for further education, but for now, I’m celebrating it and fully focused on my recovery to come back on the pitch and give my best.”

When asked whether She Corporate could battle for the league title this season, she shared her thought.

“We still have many games to play, and we are not far from the top teams.

I have been following the club, and I believe if we commit ourselves and play according to our coaches’ plans, we can fight for the league title and even go on to win it.” Confident Tusiime said.

“I want to give my best on the pitch and earn a national team call-up to represent my country as well.” Said Tusiime.

She also revealed that former UCU Lady Cardinals defender Shadia Nankya is her role model.

The Sharks are currently eighth on the table with one win, three draws, and one defeat, and are 10 points behind table leaders Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC with 16 games remaining.

Note that She Corporate FC won the league in the 2021/22 season.

Tusiime is known for her passing and crosses abilities and will be a good value for the club after recovery.

She has played for Bugema University and Asubo Ladies in the Buganda Region League and FUFA Women Elite League, respectively, and is now at She Corporate in top-flight.

Players who study widen their chances of becoming successful because there’s life after football.
