Matchday 12 of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League continues today as SC Villa hosts Police FC at the Wankulukuku Stadium.

The reigning champions are eager to bounce back to winning ways after a two-game winless streak.

SC Villa’s recent form has been inconsistent, with a loss to NEC FC and a draw against Lugazi FC in their previous outing.

However, they have a strong home record, having thrashed Wakiso Giants 6-1 in their last match at Wankulukuku.

Police FC, on the other hand, come into this game with momentum, having beaten Wakiso Giants 2-1 in their last match.

They have been resilient on the road, with their last away game ending in a 2-2 draw against UPDF FC in Bombo.

The two teams shared the spoils in their last encounter, with a 1-1 draw. A win for Police FC could propel them to 5th place, level on points with Express FC and KCCA FC.

A defeat for SC Villa could put pressure on coach Morley Byekwaso, while a victory would see them rise to 5th position with 18 points.

Police FC have only suffered one loss this season, a 2-1 defeat to Vipers in Kitende. SC Villa’s Charles Lwanga currently tops the league’s scoring charts with 8 goals and will be looking to add to his tally.

Police FC will be without head coach Simon Peter Mugerwa, who was involved in an accident on Thursday, along with fitness coach Fazil Ibrahim.

Midfielder Tonny Atukunda, who was stretchered off in the last game against Lugazi FC, is back and available for selection.
