Record Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa have continued their aggressive squad strengthening ahead of the 2026/27 season with the capture of promising midfielder Steven “Pivot” Mugisha on a four-year deal.

The 2006-born joins from Bulemeezi Ssaza, where he wore the captain’s armband during the Buganda Masaza Cup, underlining both his leadership credentials and maturity beyond his years.

His rise has been steady, having also previously featured for Kira United.

Comfortable operating at the base of midfield, Mugisha arrives with a profile tailored for control and balance.

He brings defensive discipline, composure on the ball, and an ability to dictate tempo from deep areas.

His aerial strength and sharp tactical awareness further enhance his value as a modern holding midfielder.

Upon completing the move, Mugisha did not hide his excitement about stepping onto a bigger stage.

“Joining SC Villa is a dream come true. It is a club built on history, success, and passionate support. I am ready to give everything for the badge and contribute towards achieving the team’s ambitions,” he noted.

The midfielder becomes part of a growing list of new arrivals at Villa Park, joining Isaac Gumperom and John Assiimwe as the Jogoos intensify preparations for the upcoming campaign, signalling clear intent to mount a strong title challenge.
