Para Badminton player Sarah Nazziwa stood out to win the Nile special USPA sports personality award of July.

Nazziwa was voted during the USPA monthly assembly on Monday, 14th August 2023 at Imperial Royale hotel in Kampala.

With 360 votes, Nazziwa beat athletics icon Halima Nakaayi and Stanbic Black Pirates who garnered 305 and 235 in the second (2nd) and third (3rd) place respectively.

Nazziwa won two (2) bronze Medals at the Uganda International Para Badminton championship. And also two (2) Gold and a silver medal at Para Africa Badminton championship at Lugogo.

Nakaayi set two new national records  recently whilst Pirates won two 7s circuits of Stone City and the Kitgum held July.

The supportive/assist award winner was she Cranes’ kits man John Mark Ssentongo. He collected 355 points beating Stanbic Black Pirates’ head coach Marvin Odongo who garnered 295 votes.
