The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Ball Games II Netball championship has hit the round of 16 stage.

With a perfect winning run, reigning champions Kitende, Greenlight, St. Noa Buddo, Kawanda, Baptist, Bakhita and St. Kalemba stormed the knockout.

Advancing as group A leaders, Kitende beat Mawogola 37-07 and RockHill 58-01 in the last two group stage games to reach the last 16 with 16 points.

They will face  group B second placed Kaddugala SS in on the next round.

Last year’s runners up St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana topped group H with 18 points.

The Zana based side was the most scoring and defending team. They scored 372 and conceded the least goals (88) in group stage.

They lock horns with group G runners up Nile Citizens at the round of 16.

St. Noa won all their last three group games by 41-08, 60-08 and 62-02 against Iganga Town View, Sacred Hearts – Gulu and Moroto High respectively.

Buddo SS who topped group D with 18 points and a goal difference of 217 will face off with sleeping giants Gombe SS.

Buddo SS beat Rubhongi 29-20 and a nail biting 28-27 win against their neighbors Madina Islamic in the famous Nsangi derby to lead the group.

Kawanda SS laboured past Kajjansi Progressive in another mouthwatering Wakiso Region affair, winning 24-18.

Kawanda will battle Namagabi SSS in the knockout. Namagabi finished 2nd in group F behind leaders Baptist.

Meanwhile, Greenlight Islamic School will take on group D 2nd positioned Kibuli SS. Greenlight topped group C with 18 points will all their nine games.

Elsewhere, Baptist High School will face off with Hamdan, Fortportal SS meet Bakhita as St. Kalemba take on St. Francis Busunju.
