Uganda Prisons Netball Club delivered a statement performance to climb to the top of the Uganda Netball Super League standings following a flawless Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Prisons opened their account with a hard-fought 54–50 victory over Police Netball Club in a contest defined by sharp momentum swings.

They asserted early control, taking the first and third quarters 17–12 and 16–11 respectively.

Police rallied strongly in the second quarter with a 15–9 response, while the final period ended in a balanced 12–12 stalemate, but Prisons’ earlier dominance proved decisive.

The warders returned to court with renewed authority in their second fixture, brushing aside Dynamite Netball Club 47–35 in an assured display that underlined their title credentials.

The two victories elevate Prisons to 14 points from seven matches, opening a gap over KCCA, who sit on 10 points with two games in hand.

The day’s most gripping encounter saw Uganda Christian University (UCU) edge Buddo Secondary School Netball Club 36–34 in a tightly contested duel.

The sides were inseparable across three quarters—9–9 in the first, 9–9 in the third, and 8–8 in the fourth—leaving a slender 10–8 second-quarter advantage as the decisive margin in UCU’s favour.

Weyonje Netball Club also enjoyed a productive outing, securing back-to-back wins.

They dismantled Kajjansi Progressive 50–26 before sealing a 51–37 triumph over UGX Luweero to cap an impressive day.

Elsewhere, UPDF overcame Posta 50–40, while Dynamite rebounded from their earlier defeat to Prisons with a convincing 52–39 victory against Alisha.

In the men’s division, Kampala University maintained their imperious form, registering two emphatic wins—73–27 against International and 57–36 over MUSH—to extend their dominant run.

Patriot defeated Rising Star 40–31, while WOB cruised past Red Star with a commanding 57–36 result.
