In a highly anticipated announcement, Netball Uganda has revealed the final 14-player squad that will represent the country at the second edition of the Celtic Netball Cup, scheduled to take place from November 26-30, 2025, at the Emirates Arena in Glasgow, Scotland.

The team, which has been preparing intensively for the tournament, is confident of making a strong impression on the global stage.

“This team is ready to put up a serious challenge in Glasgow,” said Netball Uganda President Jocelyn Ucanda.

“They are now the country’s flag bearers, and we expect them to give their absolute best.”

Captain Racheal Nanyonga, assisted by Lillian Ajio, expressed her readiness to lead the team, stating that they are mentally and physically prepared to compete against the best teams in the world.

The team will undergo residential training to boost their chemistry and sharpen their combinations.

The She Cranes squad features a mix of experienced players and newcomers, including Namukose Specioza, who has earned her maiden place on the national team.

The team will be coached by Rashid Mubiru, assisted by former national star Ruth Meeme.

Uganda is eyeing a move from 7th to 6th place on the World Netball rankings, and the Celtic Cup provides the perfect platform to achieve this goal.

The She Cranes will face off against Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Zimbabwe, and Namibia in a round-robin tournament.

The team will depart for Glasgow on November 23, traveling aboard Qatar Airways, and will be looking to make a lasting impression on the international netball scene.
