Entebbe UPPC climbed to fourth place in the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League standings after delivering a commanding 3-0 victory over Police FC at Hamz Stadium on Friday.

Steven Munguchi struck twice in the first half before Ambrose Kigozi added a late third to cap an impressive performance by the Printers, who collected their third victory of the campaign to move to 10 points.

Playing on a rain-soaked artificial surface following an afternoon downpour across Kampala and its surroundings, Entebbe UPPC made a blistering start, with Munguchi opening the scoring just five minutes into the contest.

The forward doubled his tally in the 28th minute, heading home to give the home side a comfortable two-goal cushion and leave Police facing an uphill task.

The visitors’ challenge became even more difficult towards the end of the first half when left-back Richard Matovu was sent off for a second bookable offence, forcing Police to contest the remainder of the match with 10 men.

Entebbe UPPC capitalised on their numerical advantage after the restart, making changes and committing more players forward in search of additional goals.

However, the Printers also demonstrated defensive discipline, keeping Police at bay whenever Ivan Mayanja and forward Bedia Ikamba threatened to mount a comeback.

Police struggled to find a breakthrough, while Entebbe UPPC remained dangerous in attack, eventually putting the result beyond doubt in the closing moments.

Kigozi supplied the finishing touch on the stroke of full-time, producing a well-executed chip over the goalkeeper to complete the 3-0 triumph and secure maximum points for the Entebbe-based outfit.

The emphatic result strengthens the Printers’ early-season campaign, with their third win lifting them to fourth on the table on 10 points.

The Entebbe UPPC-Police encounter opened Friday’s double-header at Hamz Stadium, ahead of the eagerly anticipated clash between URA FC and KCCA FC in a meeting of two clubs associated with Uganda’s revenue and city authorities.
