Gomba FC team manager Resty Mbatidde Namugema has appealed to the Ssaza’s supporters and well-wishers to unite and provide additional financial support despite raising UGX18.3 million at a fundraising dinner held at Jevine Hotel in Kampala.
The record Masaza Cup champions are seeking at least UGX45 million to complete their preparations for the 2026 final against Kyaggwe on October 30 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku, where they will be chasing a historic sixth title.

Addressing supporters and stakeholders at the fundraising dinner, Mbatidde emphasised that collective responsibility and financial commitment would be crucial to the team’s pursuit of the championship.
“This is a very crucial time when everyone should put aside the differences amongst us, join hands and accomplish the job,” Mbatidde said.

“Football is run with money, and at this time we need money. Our target is a sixth title, and we are one game away from achieving that goal.”
Despite the UGX18.3 million collected, Gomba still face a substantial funding gap as they seek to sustain the team’s preparations and meet camp and feeding expenses.
The team requires approximately UGX4.6 million per week for camp and feeding, while weekly camp expenses throughout the season have reached UGX7 million, excluding bonuses.

Gomba have also invested an estimated UGX170 million in player recruitment, reflecting the financial commitment behind their quest for another Masaza Cup crown.

The Gomba side secured its place in the final after defeating Butambala 3–0 on aggregate in the semi-finals. Having won the first leg 2–0, Gomba sealed qualification with a 1–0 victory in the return leg at Kibibi S.S Playground, Hassan Waiswa scoring the decisive goal.
The upcoming contest will be Gomba’s 11th final appearance since 2004, with the team now relying on greater unity and additional financial backing to complete its campaign with a sixth championship.
