The UMEA Solidarity Games have received a significant boost with the unveiling of a partnership with Mavid Pharmaceuticals Limited, a leading manufacturer, distributor, and retailer of medicine in Uganda.

The partnership, valued at six million shillings (6,000,000), will support the 2025 UMEA Games, which will take place from April 17th to 21st at Namagabi Secondary School in Kayunga District.

Dr. Aisha, speaking on behalf of Mavid Pharmaceuticals, emphasized the company’s commitment to improving health and wellness in Uganda.

“As medicine manufacturers and sellers, we believe that sports can strategically supplement our efforts in promoting health and wellness.

We’re excited to partner with UMEA Games and look forward to a long-term relationship.”

The partnership will provide essential support for the games, including footballs for all tournament matches, as well as contributing to the organization of the opening and closing ceremonies.

Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi, representing the organizing committee, expressed gratitude for the partnership, saying, “We’re thrilled to have Mavid Pharmaceuticals on board. Their support will undoubtedly enhance the overall experience for our participants.”

The 2025 UMEA Solidarity Games promise to be an exciting event, with over 67 Muslim Secondary Schools confirmed to participate, featuring more than 157 teams.

This year’s edition will also introduce mind games, a new addition to the tournament.

The games will kick off with arrivals on April 17th, followed by the official opening ceremony on April 18th, and culminate in the finals on April 21st.

Kibuli Secondary School is the defending champion, having emerged as the overall winner of the previous edition held at Masaka Secondary School.

With the partnership and growing participation, the 2025 UMEA Solidarity Games are set to be an unforgettable experience for all involved.
