The highly anticipated Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Wakiso Zone Round of 16 match between Kyadondo SS and Kisozi High School has finally reached its conclusion, after a dramatic and eventful restart.

The game, which was abandoned yesterday due to controversy and a brawl, resumed this morning with a tense penalty shootout. Kyadondo SS emerged victorious, winning 10-9 in the shootout.

The match began with controversy, as Kyadondo contested several referee calls, leading to a fight breaking out between fans and Kyadondo SS’s technical bench.

The tension escalated when the referee awarded a penalty to Kisozi High School with only 18 minutes left to play, a decision that was met with widespread disapproval from Kyadondo players, coaches, and fans.

In protest, Kyadondo refused to send a goalkeeper to defend the penalty, which further fueled the tension.

The situation took a dramatic turn when a Kisozi High School fan stormed onto the field and slapped Kyadondo coach Ibrahim Ayub Kizza.

In a shocking response, Kizza fought back, sparking a brawl that left the fan in a sorry state.

Following a tense boardroom meeting, the two parties agreed to resume the game from where it was abandoned, with the penalty to be taken at the restart.

Abdu Kato Ssegujja converted the penalty for Kisozi High School, but Moses Kalule equalized with a deflection off defender Muhamadi Iddi seven minutes later.

The quarterfinals are set to begin this afternoon, with the following fixtures:

– Kyadondo SS vs. Buddo SS: A highly anticipated matchup between Kyadondo SS and Buddo SS, sister to Kisozi High School, at Buddo SS.

– St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende vs. Kakungulu High School: A clash between two top teams at Kings College Buddo.

– Standard High School Zzana vs. Madina Islamic: A highly competitive matchup between Standard High School Zzana and Madina Islamic at Buddo SS Grounds.

– Cityland College vs. Greenlight Islamic Secondary School: A thrilling encounter between Cityland College and Greenlight Islamic Secondary School at King’s College Buddo.

The semifinals will be played this afternoon, and the final will take place on April 15th at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, promising more excitement and drama in the days to come.
