A dramatic late winner from Jude Ssemugabi’s header secured all three points for Kitara, sealing a perfect revenge against Police FC.

The visitors began with an attacking intent, seeking an early breakthrough, but Police’s defense held firm.

Despite creating several scoring opportunities, Police FC was unable to capitalize, with Fred Amaku and David Ndihabwe’s efforts being thwarted by Kitara’s goalkeeper Derrick Kusiima and his defense.

Ryan Kizito’s shot was also saved, and it seemed that Kitara’s defense was impenetrable.

However, the deadlock was finally broken nine minutes into the second half when Jude Ssemugabi rose highest to head in a well-delivered free kick from Solomon Okwalinga.

Ssemugabi nearly doubled the lead moments later, but his header was kept out by Police’s goalkeeper Edward Kasibante.

The hosts pushed for an equalizer, with Dennis Kalanzi sending a header wide from a Kiwalazi cross, but Kitara’s defense held firm. As Police intensified their attacks, Kitara’s goalkeeper Kusiima produced crucial saves to deny Gerald Ogweti twice.

In the dying moments, Arthur Kiggundu made a goal-line clearance to deny Ogweti as Police pushed for a late equalizer.

The win propelled Kitara to fourth place on the 16-team log with 32 points after 21 league games, while Police FC remain 12th with 23 points.

In their next fixtures, Police FC visit relegation-threatened Bright Stars, while Kitara host KCCA FC at the Royals Park.
