In a thrilling upset, FUFA Big League side Kaaro Karungi secured a 3-0 victory over Uganda Premier League outfit UPDF FC at the Kyamate Ground in Ntungamo, booking their spot in the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinals.

Moses Seremba, Gideon Onyango, and Clinton Kamugisha scored the decisive goals for Kaaro Karungi.

Seremba opened the scoring in the 24th minute, followed by Onyango’s strike in the 59th minute, which doubled the lead.

Kamugisha sealed the victory with a goal in the 79th minute, cementing Kaaro Karungi’s quarterfinal berth.

This triumph marks Kaaro Karungi’s entry into the quarterfinals, joining Kataka FC as the second FUFA Big League side to achieve this feat.

The confirmed quarterfinalists now include Kaaro Karungi, Kataka FC, BUL FC, KCCA, Kitara FC, Police FC, and SC Villa.

The final quarterfinal slot remains up for grabs, with Vipers SC and Blacks Power set to clash in a highly anticipated matchup.

The winner of this encounter will complete the quarterfinal lineup, setting the stage for an exciting next round in the Stanbic Uganda Cup.
