Doubling as captain and assistant coach player, Kawempe Cycling Club’s Aziz Ssempijja has won a Gold medal for Uganda in the Black Mamba category at ongoing Grand Nairobi Race.

“It was a good race and I have emerged the champion for Black Mamba category.

This is an inspiration for me and team mates and it’s hard work that has paid off”. Kawempe Cycling Club captain Aziz Ssempijja.

Aziz Ssempijja is part of team Uganda’s 100 cyclists sponsored by Jubilee Insurance company who were flagged off on Friday the 27th September 2024 at Sanyuka Restaurant in Mengo, Kampala.

The other categories are ongoing as more Ugandans get set to feature.

After the Grand Nairobi Race, the contingent will return to the country to prepare for the forthcoming Masaza race in Masaka early next year.

The Masaza race will be a preparation platform for the Continental race Championship.

After being shifted from Ethiopia, the Continental race shall be held in Nairobi, Kenya from 9th to 13th October 2024.
