Ibrahim Kirya has rejoined SC Villa as assistant coach for the forthcoming season, bringing a wealth of experience to the role.

Kirya, who previously served as assistant coach to Abbey Kikomeko Bogere at BUL FC last season, will work under the guidance of SC Villa’s Serbian tactician Zeljko Kovacevic.

A Season of Success with BUL FC
During his tenure at BUL FC, Kirya played a pivotal role in helping the team finish third on the Uganda Premier League table.

His tactical acumen and leadership skills were instrumental in the team’s success, and he is expected to bring similar expertise to SC Villa.

Kirya has an impressive resume, having previously served as head coach at URA FC, SC Villa, Lweza FC, Wakiso Giants, and Tooro United.

He has also worked as assistant coach to Jackson Magera during the 2022/23 season.

Additionally, Kirya is a two-time Buganda Masaza Cup winner, having triumphed with Gomba in 2020 and Bulemeezi Ssaza in 2023.

He currently serves as technical director at Buweekula Ssaza team.

The club’s technical team has undergone some changes, with Samuel Mujabi Kawalya replacing Yusuf Ssenyonjo as goalkeeping coach.

Dan Mubiru, a former player at the club, will work as team manager, while Samuel Tusingwire serves as performance analyst.

Hakim Ssenkumba is the youth team coach, and Moses Basena holds the position of technical director at SC Villa.

With Kirya’s return, SC Villa is poised to make a strong impact in the upcoming season.
