The Uganda Cup quarterfinal draw has produced a compelling lineup of fixtures, pitting traditional powerhouses against ambitious challengers in what promises to be a defining phase of the competition.

Held on Thursday morning at the Plascon offices on 2nd Street, the draw confirmed four high-stakes encounters, with seven Uganda Premier League sides still in contention—setting up a round rich in pedigree, rivalry, and opportunity.

Arguably the standout fixture will see URA FC host 10-time champions KCCA FC at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo.

Both sides arrive with confidence—URA after eliminating Tapoh FC, and KCCA following a comfortable victory over Onduparaka.

It is a familiar, evenly poised contest between two clubs well-versed in navigating the latter stages of the tournament.

Elsewhere, NEC FC, last year’s runners-up, will take on four-time winners Vipers SC at the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Lugogo.

NEC will be keen to go one step further after falling short in 2024, but face a stern test against a Vipers side intent on reclaiming its place at the summit of Ugandan football.

Defending champions Kitara FC will host Express FC at Royal Park in Butema in another intriguing tie.

Kitara are chasing a second successive crown, while Express—joint 10-time winners—bring a wealth of experience and a formidable cup pedigree that could prove decisive.

In the only fixture featuring a non-topflight side, regional outfit Happy Boyz Kagaba will welcome nine-time champions SC Villa.

For Kagaba, it represents a rare opportunity to test themselves against one of Uganda’s most decorated clubs, while Villa will be wary of the unpredictability that often defines cup football.

With narratives of redemption, dominance, and underdog ambition woven across all four ties, the quarter-final stage is primed to deliver drama and intensity.

Quarter-final Fixtures:

URA FC vs KCCA FC

Happy Boyz Kagaba vs SC Villa

Kitara FC vs Express FC

NEC FC vs Vipers SC
