The 2025 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) National Boys’ football tournament has progressed to its second day, featuring exciting matches that have kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Debutants Greenlight Islamic Secondary School-Nansana bounced back from their opening-day defeat to Kibuli SS, securing a 1-0 win over Quality High School.

The all-important goal was scored by Denis Sserunjogi Katende, which not only marked Greenlight’s first goal in the National Championship history but also brought them their first historical win.

In other matches, Kyadondo Secondary School, based in Matugga, won 2-0 over Metha High School in their opening game at the tournament.

Joseph Mudde Junior and Thomas Ogema scored the goals for Kyadondo.

Meanwhile, record champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende convincingly defeated Bugisu High School 4-0 in their first game.

Santos Manyiel Agok, Arafat Nikola, Jahid Mwondha, and Denis Kisirikko Luzige scored the four goals for Kitende.

On day three, matches will run until the afternoon, pausing for the official opening ceremony.

The ceremony will feature a highly anticipated tie between host Ngora High School and Kyadondo SS, promising to be an electrifying encounter.
