Uganda Martyrs Lubaga Women FC head coach Edward Kasozi Ssozi and Kampala Queens captain Shamirah Nalugya were crowned the Best Coach and Player of the Month, respectively.

Coach Kasozi emerged victorious, edging out Kampala Queens coach Asefa Firew Haile Gabreal and Tooro Queens head coach Ayesiga Rogers.

Under his expert guidance, Uganda Martyrs secured three consecutive victories in March, defeating She Maroons, She Corporate, and Wakiso Hill.

“I thank my backroom staff for their tremendous efforts, which contributed significantly to our wins in March,” Kasozi said.

“I also appreciate the financial support provided by Finance Trust Bank, which has elevated the competitiveness of the league.”

Shamirah Nalugya outshone her competitors, including her teammate Zainah Nandede and Uganda Martyrs captain Latifah Nakasi, to win the Player of the Month award.

Her impressive performance included three goals and one assist in the three matches played in March.

The Best Coach and Player each received an award and a cash prize of UGX 500,000.

Additionally, Isma Mulangwa of New Vision and Sinan Rajub Senoga of Swift Sports Uganda were recognized as the best journalists for the month of March, each receiving UGX 250,000.

The Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League will resume this Friday with a rescheduled match between Amus College WFC and Kampala Queens, followed by a short break due to the USSSA Nationals.
