FEASSSA: Amus College football teams register match day 1 victories
Amus College girls and boys football teams have started their Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) campaign with victories. Amus College girls and boys football teams have started their Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSSA) campaign with victories.

Amus boys beat Shanderema of Kenya by 0-2 in the opener. Allan Oyirwoth scored twice in the 7th and 20th minutes.

The Bukedea based side will face a Ugandan team (St. Henry’s College, Kitovu) tomorrow in their second game.

In the girls football, Amus College beat Apaer of Rwanda by 1-0.

Skipper Shayline Opisa scored the all-important goal of the game in the opening half that turned into the winner.

The Uganda champions will another Ugandan side Sacred Hearts in day two ties.

Elsewhere, defending champions St. Noa Girls overcame Tanzania’s Ziba by 2-1.

Captain Sarah Babirye lived by example to score the opener for the Zana based side as the first stanza ended 1-0.

Four minutes into the second half, tension rose for St. Noa Girls after conceding and equalizer.

Sylvia Kabene sealed the victory for Uganda side St. Noa with a hard close range shot in last ten minutes of play.

Meanwhile, Kawempe Muslim Secondary School beat Butera Girls of Kenya by 3-1 in the opener.

Allen Nassazi, Hadijjah Babirye, Phiona Nabulime were on target for Kawempe whilst Diana Anyango scored a consolation for Kenya’s Butera Girls

On Monday afternoon, Kawempe will face off with Ziba before they meet St. Noa in a Ugandan affair of group A in match day three.
