Uganda Revenue Authority registered a 2-1 victory against Ethiopian Coffee SC during the opening leg of the CAF Confederation Cup (preliminary round) at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende on Sunday.

Forward Steven Desse Mukwala’s brace gave the tax collectors the command after the opening 45 minutes of the game.

The first of Mukwala’s two goals was a header off another headed assist from Viane Ssekajugo in the 22nd minute.

He then scored a curler from 30 yards past the diving goalkeeper Abel Mamo Gebreyohans with eight minutes to half time.

However, in the 55th minute, Ethiopian Coffee scored one back through Tesfay William.

In the 75th minute, Patrick Mbowa launched a thunderbolt from long range but Ethiopian Coffee’s keeper Abel Mamo was in good position to save it.

The two sides will meet again in the second leg of the fixture on September 19th in Ethiopia as URA FC aims for a draw to make it to the next round of the competition.
