The 2025 Netball Uganda National Rally Championship commenced today, Friday, March 21st, 2025, at Busia Greater Lions Netball Arena in Busia, featuring a plethora of electrifying matches.

Day one witnessed giants Buddo SS, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, St. Mary’s-Kitende, and Kawanda SS clash in a series of intense encounters.

The day’s most anticipated tie pitted 2018 FEASSA champions St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana against Buddo SS.

In a hotly contested match marred by contentious refereeing decisions, Buddo emerged victorious, edging St. Noa 23-22.

The narrow one-point margin sparked controversy, with both teams objecting to several decisions.

Undeterred by their initial defeat, St. Noa rebounded strongly, defeating Kisozi SS 28-11 in their second game.

Meanwhile, Buddo SS secured their second consecutive win on day one, beating Kenyan guest side Bumala.

Reigning champions St. Mary’s Boarding Secondary School-Kitende began their campaign with a 29-17 victory over Kawanda SS in their group opener.

They subsequently registered the day’s most resounding win, thrashing Busia Seed School 58-02.

The National Rally Championship has made a triumphant return to the netball scene after a two-year hiatus, with the last edition held in 2023 at St. Lwanga – Kasasa in Masaka.

This year’s championship features a diverse lineup, including five schools, seven clubs, three men’s teams, and three institutions. The two-day event will culminate tomorrow, Saturday, March 22nd.
