Block F FC booked their place in the Hamz Cup semi-finals after grinding out a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Born Talent, with Johnson Ssenyonga emerging as the match-winner.

Ssenyonga’s decisive strike proved the difference in a tense quarter-final encounter, propelling Block F into the last four and keeping their hopes of lifting the lucrative Shs50 million trophy firmly alive.

The victory also guarantees Block F a place in the tournament’s Shs15 million prize bracket, with the possibility of earning even more as the competition approaches its climax.

Block F join TikTok FC and Nurmak in the semi-finals. Nurmak secured their place after eliminating Kafumbe United 1-0, courtesy of Shafic Nyanzi’s decisive goal.

Nurmak had earlier defeated Best of The Best 2-1 to advance in the competition.

Attention now turns to the remaining quarter-final fixture, with Manchester United Fans UG scheduled to face Tororo Boys.

The final quarter-final is set for Saturday, October 24, as the race for the remaining semi-final berth continues.

Beyond the prestige of lifting the trophy, the Hamz Cup offers substantial financial rewards for participating teams and individual performers.

The champions will take home Shs50 million, while the runners-up will receive Shs25 million.

The third- and fourth-placed teams will earn Shs20 million and Shs15 million, respectively.

Teams eliminated at the quarter-final stage are guaranteed Shs10 million each, ensuring that the tournament remains financially rewarding beyond the semi-finals.

Individual excellence and fan engagement will also be rewarded. The Most Valuable Player and the team with the largest fan contingent will each receive Shs1 million.

The best goalkeeper, top scorer, fairest team, best coach and two outstanding media personalities will each walk away with Shs500,000.

With three semi-finalists confirmed and one quarter-final tie remaining, the Hamz Cup title race is gathering momentum, with Block F among the contenders chasing the tournament’s coveted Shs50 million grand prize.
