Blacks Power maintained their flawless start to the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season on Tuesday, fighting back from a goal down to beat Maroons 2-1 at Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku.

The victory, their third in as many matches, lifted the newly promoted Lira-based side to second place on nine points, level with leaders BUL FC on goal difference.

Simon Peter Mugerwa’s charges had earlier opened their campaign with successive 1-0 victories over Ntugasaze and Police FC before extending their winning streak against Maroons.

The hosts appeared on course to end that run when Ali Ismael broke the deadlock in the 37th minute, heading home Brian Nkuubi’s delivery to give Maroons a slender advantage at the interval.

Blacks Power responded decisively after the restart, with Andrew Noll Ogwal restoring parity just five minutes into the second half following a pass from Innocent Maduka.

The comeback was completed in the 67th minute when Richard Oscar Otim struck Blacks Power’s second goal to secure all three points for the visitors.

The result leaves Blacks Power joint-top with nine points from three matches, while BUL FC occupy first place after their 4-1 victory over Ntugasaze elsewhere on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, KCCA FC’s early-season struggles continued as they were held to a goalless draw by newly promoted Kigezi Homeboyz at Rwamwanja Stadium in Kamwenge.

The stalemate leaves KCCA still searching for consistency as the campaign gathers pace.
