All is set for USSSA 2024 Elite championship

The 2024 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Elite championship is set to get underway this week.

The championship will kick off with the arrival of teams at the host schools Jinja SS and Jinja College on 24th January.

Screening, draws and fixtures will done on Thursday 25th. The tournament will run to Saturday 27th .

Football, basketball, Netball, volleyball, handball, basketball 3X3, table tennis, badminton, tennis are the sports disciplines lined up for this year’s edition.

In girls football, St. Noa Girls Secondary School-Zana, Jinja SS, Sacred Heart, Kawempe Muslim, Amus College, Boni Concili, Bukedea Comprehensive and JIPRA will take part in the tournament.

Boys football will feature schools like Amus College, Standard High, JIPRA, Jinja SS, Jinja College, Bukedea Comprehensive, Kawempe Muslim and St. Kagwa.

The Netball discipline will bring together Buddo SS, Green Light High School, Baptist High School, Kaddugala SS, Ahmadiyya Muslim, Jinja SS, Kawempe Muslim and Mbale based Nkoma SS.

Boys Volleyball will see giants Standard High-Zana, Bukedea Comprehensive, JIPRA, Jinja College, St. Kagwa, Namugongo Vocational, Mubende Army and Jinja SS compete in the boys category.

The girls category attracted only six teams. They include Ngora High, Katikamu SDA, Mariam High, Bukedea Comprehensive, Immaculate Heart and hosts Jinja SS .
